TM65: Calculating Embodied Carbon
Our TM65 certifications provide transparent, standardised data on the embodied carbon of Excel products, helping you make informed, sustainable specification decisions.

TM65 is a methodology developed by CIBSE to estimate the embodied carbon of products where full lifecycle data is not yet available. It provides a structured, consistent approach to calculating the carbon emissions associated with:
Raw material extraction
Manufacturing
Transportation
Installation
Maintenance and replacement
End-of-life processing
Because structured cabling products often lack complete lifecycle datasets, TM65 offers a practical and credible way to assess their environmental impact.
Why TM65 Matters
TM65 helps customers:
Understand the carbon footprint of the products they specify
Support sustainability reporting and ESG commitments
Meet the requirements of green building standards
Compare products based on environmental performance
Make informed procurement decisions
Excel is actively applying TM65 calculations across key product ranges to provide clear, accessible embodied carbon data for project teams.
You can download a TM65 certificate for each product by viewing the product on the online catalogue and clicking on ‘Documents and Downloads’.
